The Danish Lutheran Church of Vancouver is completely self-funded.
The various church groups and fundraising activities taking place throughout the church year contribute to cover church programs and general expenses.
Ways to donate:
Please include your name, address, and telephone number in the message box for tax receipt purposes.
2. By Cheque
Please make cheque payable to The Danish Lutheran Church, 6010 Kincaid Street, Burnaby, BC, Canada V5G 4N3 and indicate the reason on the memo line.
3. Envelopes
If you prefer using weekly or monthly envelopes, these can be placed in the offering plate at the service.
4. Credit Card
You can also call the Church Office and make a donation using your credit card.
5. Donate now online
You can make a donation through Canada Helps, with whom we are registered. Please keep in mind that Canada Helps retains a 4% transaction fee for one-time donations, and 3.5% for monthly donations.
Note
If you are in Canada from Denmark on a temporary visa and thus taxable in Denmark, you can have your Danish Church tax (kirkeskat) transferred to the Danish Lutheran Church of Vancouver, BC. Please contact the Church Office so we can help you with the paperwork.
Income Tax Receipts
Because of the year-round nature of donations, tax receipts will in general be issued once a year in early February, unless an earlier receipt is requested. Donations via Canada Helps are issued immediately.
Securities
If you have made a capital gain on mutual funds, bonds, equity or other securities and are considering donating a part of your gain to our church, please know that there is a considerable tax advantage to donating the securities themselves rather than proceeds from a sale. CanadaHelps.org offers an inexpensive way of handling the paperwork.
Bequests
From time to time our church is the beneficiary of a bequest. We are very grateful that our members and friends remember us in their wills and in this way continue their support of our church after their death.
