An iconic photo was shot in 1940 in New Westminster: Wait for me, Daddy!
This photo literally shows us that so many Canadian families contributed to our freedom in Europe. Now, 76 years after the Liberation of Denmark we still remember, we are still thankful, we still celebrate freedom. We light a candle and put it in our window, to light up the world and to express our gratitude and joy!
Janet Mowatt plays 'En lærke letted', the famous song that became an expression of all the releif and mixed feelings and happiness that followed May 4th 1945.
We listen to the freedom message on Danish Radio from that special evening and join us on Columbia St with pastor Susanne and get a view of 8th St where the famous photo was shot.
